It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of Bruce Purser at the age of 95. Bruce Purser was a New Zealand entomologist living in France for decades and was a prominent member of the ALF (French Lepidopterist Association). He wrote many books including "Butterflies of the Andes", "Jungle bugs in the night".
You will find a nice tribute and pictures of Bruce in Bolivia, Colombia and France on the ALF website: https://www.lepidofrance.fr/bruce-h-purser/
On a more personal note, I loved his literate French, his handmade maps, his reports of tropical expeditions during the monthly ALF meetings and his interest in lepidopteran behavior.
RIP Bruce Purser

It is sad news received today.
Many have enjoyed his company, his knowledge and his writings.
His extensive travels were an inspiration to us all.
He will be sadly missed.

RIP! One of very few collectors that managed to reach an extreme age. It seems most of us die in our fifties or sixties.
