Packing for a short trip…
Packing for a short trip…
Packing for a short airline trip to FL. One day down, one back, two in FL. No carry on luggage, just a small backpack “personal item”
And I’m thinking.
Wear boots, field pants and jacket on plane.
One pair shorts
Flipflops
Toothbrush and paste.
Hey, if I wear the same t shirt and underwear and socks three days I have room for my net and envelopes.
Wife says I have to wear clean boxers every day.
Dilemmas….

Re: Packing for a short trip…
Hi All,
First, Happy Thanksgiving to those of you out there who celebrate it!
I hope I'm correctly remembering exactly who this story is about, but I think it was Norville Downie, the editor of BONENA, the Beetles of Northeastern North America. He would travel to south Texas carrying just two changes of clothing for a two-week collecting trip. He wore only light cotton pants and shirts. At the end of a collecting day, he would get into the shower fully clothed and soap up his clothes, rinse them and then remove them and shower himself. As they dried, he wore the other set, then repeated the process. One could carry your "luggage" in a shopping bag using this method!
Cheers!

Re: Packing for a short trip…
I wear my field clothes for a week between washing. By the end of the week they are pretty ripe.
In this case, my wife said NO, I have to look nice and clean and dry. And I can’t fit my net.

Chuck,
Take your net rim and bag in your carry-on, and find a nice, straight stick for a handle. A little duct tape and you're good to go!
Happy travels!

Re: Packing for a short trip…
Solution: don’t wear underwear.
