Juvisy insect fair 2023
Juvisy insect fair 2023
Dear friends,
I know it is very early but has the Juvisy insect fair date been scheduled yet for late September, 2023? I realize that it is usually the last weekend of the month. So, would it be the weekend of 23-24, September or possibly the following weekend of 30 September- 1 October? For those of us coming from overseas much advanced planning is necessary. Thank you for your help. Sincerely,
morphonut.

Re: Juvisy insect fair 2023
still no news about Juvisy 2023 dates ?
Re: Juvisy insect fair 2023
It's not usually announced until about April/May, but I'm basing my plans on 23rd-24th September.

I always drive and I've never had a problem. I don't think there are any restrictions except for CITES listed species.

Yes it is confirmed on 30 Sept, 1 Oct.
Re: Juvisy insect fair 2023
That'a a disaster for me! Every time before that the Sunday would have been 1st October, it's moved forward a week to 23rd/24th September, so I based my schedule on that. I've now booked a holiday to Spain starting 30th September. This will be the first year I've not been to Juvisy (barring Covid) for about 25 years.
Re: Juvisy insect fair 2023
Sorry to drag up a slightly old topic, but can anyone tell me if the Juvisy fair will have any wholesale suppliers?
I'm considering making the trip from Australia and wondering if it's more of a fair for private collectors or if there will be an opportunity to meet suppliers at a wholesale level as well

There is no wholesale suppliers there, it is a fair with high-quality / rare specimens for collectors.
This said, you will meet the main European sellers and will be able to discuss with them.

Ok awesome! I will re-adjust my expectations for it then
Is it worth bringing rare specimens to trade with other collectors or is this not something that is done?

Re: Juvisy insect fair 2023
There is no official "exchange" area in the fair, but some collectors of course use this opportunity to exchange specimens with others. It is not often that you have 1,000 entomologists from all over the world in the same place !
About wholesale, you should advertise in the Insect Supplier page. Having a website registered there, I often receive proposals from wholesalers. It would also boost your awareness and sales.

You mean Parides vercingetorix Oberthür, 1888, as coelus Boisduval, 1836 is a junior homonym.teinopalpus wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 9:36 am Anybody here knows which seller has Parides coelus specimens this year in Paris ?
Adam.
