This only seems to be true of the nominate subspecies, however, as ssp. genini still commands high prices -
From memory my nominate pair were still quite expensive about six years ago. Did have a friend in Scotland who had pupae of this species from Statford on Avon Buttetfly farm a few years back. Apparently the adults which emerged were either very small &/or crippled
