A tribute to the memory of the late Nishiyama Yasusuke

Post by mokky »

Dear all colleagues,

Japanese insect society lost a great talent last April.

The late Mr. Nishiyama Yasusuke (1947-2022) was a professional insect dealer and renowned Lepidopterist. Maybe many of you know the historic series, "Butterflies of the South East Asian Islands". He was the co-author of the 1st volume, Papilionidae. Without his contribution this series could not have been published.

To honor his unprecedented achievements, now we start to publish his memorial book. Maybe some of the members in this forum know him. Mr. Adam cotton is his good friend, I know. So if you wish to write a eulogy for him, please send me PM.

Thank you for your assistance.

A memorial book is a good way to honour as important a Lepidopterist as Nishiyama-san. I hope that I can contribute in a small way.

Adam.
