Plastic Model Butterfly Kit

Post by 58chevy »

I built one of these when I was a kid (a long time ago). Has anybody else built one?

I never had a kit of that type, but I did assemble quite a few balsa wood insect models in the late 70s / early 80s. These were in production for quite a few years - not sure if they still are; they probably aren't at this point, and those that I've seen for sale online are likely vintage. I believe that "Insect Craft" was the brand name. My local science museum always had them in their gift shop -

Interesting, never saw that one. I remember the mantids and dynastes, though I never built any.

I did build a bunch of the Aurora dinosaurs. And still have them stuffed away in a box in a closet.

58 Chevy, if that's your kit it's in great shape. I see them on eBay now and then, Aurora is one of the things I collect, with enough money, you
can still buy sealed kits of just about anything. I like the Prehistoric scenes and the monster glow kits.

It's not my kit. I found the pictures on ebay. My mom threw away my kit years ago. I remember the wooden kits also.
