I caught it and that's all I know

Post by kevinkk »

I've had this guy sine August 29, captured at Lost Lake in Linn county Oregon.
My cricket book isn't much help. I think it might be called a "grig"
In any event, he's alive and well, what it eats, I don't know, I give
it oats, granola, dried plant material, and water. It has grown since
August.

Snap! I need to learn how to use that bug guide thing. So, the Great grig...
It has never made any sounds, perhaps it's a female , it must be mature by now.
I found it after a pointless night of running the UV light, right under the light in a small depression,
it must have been coincidence. Actually it wasn't a pointless night, I learned that late
August is cold in the mountains, and not much was flying except the bats.
