Strange..more Hebomoia than Stichophthalma I think. Possibly artistic license taken with a heavily marked female Hebomoia? Here is a recently set pair of Hebomoia glaucippe formosana with a heavily spotted female as an example.

Indeed - I wasn't aware that some female H. glaucippe had hindwing markings quite so bold as the example in your photo. Are they usually only that pronouned in ssp. formosana? When I saw the diamond-shaped markings in the artwork, the first thing I thought of was the similar pattern on the hindwings of many Stichophthalma species. In any case though, yes, some artistic license has been taken.

I like this painting a lot. I prefer these artistic interpretations to perfect reproductions.

No, not only in subspecies formosana but also as here in ssp. atura from Malaysia & the nominate ssp. from Viet Nam
