This is a species which has ALWAYS garnered plenty
of attention and noteriety by collectors and forum
members here alike.

Specimens of this species have been shown periodically
in the past (on our old forum). I have not as yet seen it
presented here on the new forum so here it is again.

I've never had privilege to collect the species myself. It
is a variable species apparently with some 9 subspecies
attributed to it. After seeing several nice specimens
posted by various members I thought that I've just got
to get some of those someday....

Well, someday finally arrived recently and I was able
to acquire 2 females (with two more in waiting); along
with 6 males (soon to come). I would have picked them
all up at once but, other choices steered my interest !

For now, I only have these 2 females to share but, once
I acquire the others I will show them all.

A wonderful unique species...

Speyeria are nice. In Summer, I do enjoy looking after Speyeria aglaja. The only current member of genus Speyeria in Europe.
