Banded Sphinx (Eumorpha fasciatus)

Post by Trehopr1 »

Another of our more outstanding hawkmoth species here
in the eastern U.S. is the Banded sphinx (Eumorpha fasciatus).
It is very attractive for its bold pink/green hindwing coloration
(when fresh); along with its strikingly banded opposing forewings.

All the members of genus Eumorpha are gorgeous, notably pandorus, labruscae, achemon, and vittis. Years ago I had some from a fellow member in Arizona that sent them to me.
