This species is my absolute favorite amongst the Troides. T. prattorum from Buru is almost as spectacular for the pearlescence which it has on the hind wings.
However, in my humble opinion the variable yellow splashes/streaks on the forewings of this species (males) give it my nod for "top dog".
Really nice specimens Dave !

Could not agree more with what you say about the beauty of this particular species. Think the males of the nominate subspecies are really spectacular.
I have an old pair of T prattorum. That's a lovely one too as you say.
