Here is a Troides (hybrid) which is in my
friends collection. I believe he told me
it was a cross between Priamus (hence its
wing shape) and Troides oblongmaculatus.
The yellow of this specimen was extraordinarily
bold and intense surpassing that of a rival T. prattorum
specimen (on hand) ! So, I'm attempting to illustrate
here that hybridization morphs the color spectrum
somewhat from natural.
I cannot say this will come across in my photo as
the glass cover is likely to diminish the "depth" which
I could see. Also, to avoid blow-back from overhead
lighting the picture angle was adjusted.
