Hi all,
recently I caught a female Sesia apiformis. It was sat very near the ground, near a small Salix caprea and no Populus (most common host) species was nearby. I obtained a load of ova and at first I thought the ova was infertile as they seemed inverted. However, I now have tiny larvae and would like to try rearing them - apparently a long process of 2-4 years! I'm game!
https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... ot_suckers states that the larvae feed on plant sap and I've read that apples can provide some food for a while...
Any advice is welcome!
