Caligo martia : pair (Brazil)
Caligo uranus : female (Mexico)
Caligo atreus agesilaus : female (Ecuador)

I find these remind me of moths. That said, some of my fellow Lep. Soc. of Africa members would be quick to point out that butterflies are moths.

Very fine Caligo specimens! I was fortunate to obtain a specimen of C. oberthuri recently, which is one of the less commonly available species -

Do you have any C. beltrao? The coloration on the recto side is really beautiful -

Indeed, Caligo could be considered the butterfly analogue of saturniid moths (except that Caligos have their eyespots on the recto side, rather than verso).

Yes I do have C beltrao & agree it is really beautiful.
That's a lovely C oberthuri specimen you have there. It is s difficult one to get hold of. Rare high altitude species. The underside of this species is exquisite I think.
