Hello,
Could you help me identify this Rutelidae from Lima, Peru?
It's metallic green with brown highlights and striated elytra.
Size is 19 mm.

Greetings,

I believe this is a species of Anomala, but the genus has many similar species and I cannot identify it further...

Cheers,
Bandrow

I can't believe it. I thought you were the Adam Cotton of Coleoptera, the Beetle Whisperer.

I am not at all surprised that bandrow cannot identify this beyond genus from the single photo. I know that Anomala is a large genus, we have them here in Thailand too, and I expect that it would be very difficult to identify them accurately even with high quality photos of all sides.

Adam.

My gosh Adam, I'm teasing. You guys are too serious!

Hi Guys!

Well, at the risk of inviting undue scrutiny to my "motives" - I'd need to see the genitalia... and even then, I don't know the scarab fauna outside of the U.S. well enough to resolve this one.

And this genus is a killer, as Adam mentioned - they're at their worst (best?) in the SE Asian realm.

But I thank you, Chuck, for believing me to be the 'Beetle Whisperer' and hope I haven't let you down! Put a longhorn in front of me and I'll promise better results! :D

Cheers!
