How do you read InsectNet forums?

I hit "quick links" then "recent posts", and I get all the latest.

I noted that Adam had moved some new topics where they might be better seen. But doesn't everyone do "recent posts"?

Of course, if I'm trying to re-find something specific I'll go to that sub-forum.

Since I check the forum several times a day I just go to the main page and then open all sub-forums that have new posts and read all of those.

Adam.

I have the site bookmarked, I usually click "classifieds" first, then I'll look at the Forum, typically in the morning, and the evening.
I did notice there is a lot of content on the Insectnet site, much more than just what I normally look at.:) There is a difference in the device
a person uses, typically I use the laptop, and it looks a certain way, although the 1 time I used my phone, it had a different look.
I just look at the dates of posts to see what's new. I tried the search feature for something not long ago, I can't recall what it was right now though,
worked great!

I also do "Quick links" < "Recent Posts".

Very useful to check all new topics and clicks on the one that interests me.

If you use "Unread posts", you doen't have to remember which ones you've read and which you haven't.

Yes but in "Unread posts" you see topic titles only.
And from time to time, a discussion goes off-topic and can be interesting to me even if the topic title is not in my area of interest.
That's why I prefer "Recent posts".

But it is good to see all of us has found his own way to enjoy reading the forum.

It's interesting to know that "unread" is titles only. In knowing how people read the forums I may be able to tailor content.

I truly enjoy off-topic discussions; they are often novel to me and a fresh look at something new is enjoyable. I also read, as time permits, online archeology and paleontology news even though I have not time to pursue those fields of study. I've dumped most of my Delias, and know so little about them, but I still am fond of reading about new discoveries, challenges, etc.

And...while frustratingly like slowing to watch a car wreck, I do read (with one eye) those First Posts involving things like "ID this bug from a fuzzy photo", "Killer Wasp in My Room", "These Weevils are biting Me in My Bed", and "OMG this can't be a Cockroach." These scare me, but I must read them.
