Speyeria aglaja/Fabriciana adippe

The Dark Green & High Brown Fritillary. All these specimens reared by myself from larvae
The S aglaja livestock were sourced in the U.K.
The F adippe livestock originated in Lithuania. F addipe is now probably the rarest British butterfly & our native sub species is fully protected.
The bottom two specimens in the F adippe photo lack the silver spots to the underside( form cleodoxa) This form is excessively rare in the British subspecies.

The butterfly in my local area that probably most resembles these species is Euptoieta claudia -

I saw this species in New Mexico in 2016
