Velvet Ants of North America

Post by kevinkk »

New books are not always easy to find, but I have a new book I received yesterday . Velvet Ants of North America,
a Princeton Field Guide, written by 3 authors, Kevin Williams, Aaron Pan and Joseph Wilson, a little over 400 pages with lots of
photos, pronunciation and seemingly, a lot of detail. Just published in 2024.
Having only captured a single specimen years ago in Northern Calif, perhaps I can get some advice from this book.
Just simply glancing through the book, it looks to me, at least, to be something useful for any experience level, unless,
possibly, if the Mutillidae is your specialty.

Sounds like a wonderful book kevinkk.

It is likely to remain the most modern and all encompassing work to be done on Mutillidae of the U.S.

Much like yourself I too have only collected one species so, it wouldn't do me much good having such a book. However, for those who have been able to get some of these or have an inordinate interest in them I would say it is a must to have....

Thank you for letting us know of this latest work ! 🙏🙂
