Everywhere, and that is literally in all parts of the world
(except Antartica); there are to be found many hundreds
of strikingly beautiful smaller species of lepidoptera to
be appreciated. Most are overlooked generally and a fair
percentage really require a good strong look to notice them
as they hide in plain view because of evolutionary adaption.

Little green moths such as this European species are to me
just adorable creatures....They are subtle in color, delicate
in appearance, and largely go un-noticed unless attracted to
a light.

I remember well meeting-up with Dr. Charles Covell in Bolivia
in 1989 and he made it a point to let all concerned (group trip)
collectors know that the "little green geometrids" were his specialty
interest --- and all donations were very much appreciated !
