Can anyone identify this mite?

Request help to identify insects or other creatures. Please post the location that the insect you want to identify came from, this will help greatly in species determination.

Can anyone identify this mite?

Hi All,

Recently found dozens of these little mites in our woodpile (we are in the UK)

I've checked on Google but cant discern whether it's a velvet mite, harvest mite, clover mite or something else?

Can anyone advise?

Also do they bite us humans? I'm very much hoping not :)

Try Googling "Red Velvet Mite". Lots of info online.... No danger to humans.
