Insects in My Pool

Greetings. Every now and then, my pool is full of these tiny insects. Can someone tell me what they are? I hope they're not termites!

These appear to be winged ants (called alates), which are the reproductive members of a colony -

I've heard that in some areas, they often end up in pools, sometimes in large numbers. Apparently, they are attracted to the light reflecting off the surface.

Thank goodness! Are they harmless to my home's structure, or garden?

No ... but your pool is harmless to them...
I suppose you meant :” Yes…but your pool is harmful to them…” as they will die in it.
