Heliconius doris

Post by daveuk »

Three specimens from Ecuador. All from the early 2000's. Part of the last consignment of specimens from an old British dealer friend before he retired. Pretty sure the top two are doris forms. Not completely convinced about the red one.

Heliconius is my favour genus as well.
It is such enjoyment to watch them flying slow between the vegetation.

Actually there is a form of Heliconius doris doris that looks exactly the same so it could be it.
