Help with ID

Can anyone tell me what this insect is? I thought it was a Sand Wasp but the "tail" seems a bit too long compared to others I have seen.

Looks like some type of robber fly.

Thank you very much! I live along the Gulf Coast of Texas and have always been interested in the wide variety of animal and insect life in my area. I can usually figure out what I am looking at but wasn't certain about this one.
