Request help to identify insects or other creatures. Please post the location that the insect you want to identify came from, this will help greatly in species determination.
Can anyone tell me what this is, i guess its a bee but what type, it caught my eye in the garden yesterday just chilling out like they do, it was a very bright yellow colour not the normal yellow and black like you see in a normal bee, and it had bright white wings. It stood out because of the colour and sure iv seen one on TV before.
This was in stoke on trent, England.

Well thanks for letting me know that, i did a bit of diggin now i know its a moth and not a bee, looking at pictures on google it looks very much like a rosy maple moth, not sure if the wings were completly white or not they stayed closed and dident want to disturb it i just let it be.

It may possibly be a male Hepialus humuli (Ghost Moth) -
Agree with livingplanet that this is a male Ghost Moth( H humuli). I live about 25 miles from Stoke On Trent & the moth occurs infrequently where I live.
