Please help ID the following Brassolid specimen.
This one from Ecuador.

Another Opsiphanes sp., but again, I'm uncertain of the species. It may possibly be O. cassina.

Based on a quick picture-book ID - this is O. merianae. Me thinks that cassina - as we knew it, is now a series of different species. For example, Central American populations are now O. fabricii.

Opsiphanes was just revised in detail - 23 species. If you go onto researchgate - the lead author will send you a pdf file if you ask. I've used it, and it solved some quite tedious problems I had in Belize. Problems caused by over splitting by past researchers (and me) in species that are quite variable.
