Fowl mites?

Request help to identify insects or other creatures. Please post the location that the insect you want to identify came from, this will help greatly in species determination.

Fowl mites?

My partner came back from holiday and found a bunch of tiny (~1mm) bugs crawling on his air purifier! They look like tiny mites, but I’m not confident.

The bugs are white with six legs and what appears to be black squares on their back, see photo.

We have some starlings nesting in the eaves, which is part of why I guessed fowl mites. Any second opinions?
