I have a genuine British specimen of this caught by a famous collector around 1903, one of the very few in existence.

We have 2 species of this genus in Thailand. Cerny & Pinratana, 2009 (Moths of Thailand vol. six Arctiidae) state that examination of genitalia is often necessary to distinguish the species.

It looks exactly the same as my specimen of Utetheisa pulchelloides collected on Koh Tao, Thailand.

That's why the species can often only be distinguished by genitalia preparation.
