Locations in France

Post by bugsy »

Hello everyone,

I have several Carabus that I acquired in trade many many years ago and I'm finally getting around to mounting them. However, I'm not sure I understand the location information. Maybe you guys can help!

Two of them are labeled as Ariege region of France, and I assume the other part on those are forests but I can't find reference to them online either because I can't read the handwriting or they are obscure.
The third I have no idea.

1. There is a Forêt de Coumefroide in the department of Aude, Occitanie
2, There is a Foret de Bélesta in the department of Ariège

1. There is also a forest of "ComeFroide" in Occitanie : https://www.commune-mairie.fr/foret/for ... l-F15391Y/

2. agree with Manfred

3. When you see a number like "26" in a French label, it must be a French departement. In this case, it is "Drôme".
Then I read "Pagne d'Angel" but it doesn't ring any bell on Google...
I have found a "Montagne d'Angèle" which could be your locality : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montagne_d%27Ang%C3%A8le
But hard to be 100% sure...
But then I see "D. Maguerre" and Damien Maguerre is a famous French coleopterist. I have found his email and I send it to you in private message, I guess he will be able to tell you exactly the collecting spot.
