Bed Bug?
I’m in the Los Angeles area. About a day and a half after staying at a friend’s house I noticed some itchy bites on my upper arm, near my armpit. They were more mild than a mosquito bite. I suspected bed bugs. So I set up two bed bug traps in my friend’s house as shown in the below YouTube video. I caught a bug that I believe is a bed bug. It’s been dead for a few days so it looks a bit dried up, and it has some remnants of baby powder on it. It’s about the size of an apple seed, maybe slightly smaller.

Re: Bed Bug?
I don't think this is a bed bug, and I also doubt that it was responsible for biting you either. This is a beetle, but I have no idea which family.
Bed bugs are much more rounded in shape as well as morphologically different from beetles.
Adam.

Re: Bed Bug?
Thank you for the reply. I will follow up if/when I can catch another specimen that might have clearer characteristics.

Re: Bed Bug?
My guess could be a common furniture beetle.
