Re: second Brassolid to ID
Based on a quick picture-book ID - this is O. merianae. Me thinks that cassina - as we knew it, is now a series of different species. For example, Central American populations are now O. fabricii.
Opsiphanes was just revised in detail - 23 species. If you go onto researchgate - the lead author will send you a pdf file if you ask. I've used it, and it solved some quite tedious problems I had in Belize. Problems caused by over splitting by past researchers (and me) in species that are quite variable.
MÔNICA PIOVESAN, MIRNA MARTINS CASAGRANDE & OLAF HERMANN HENDRIK MIELKE. Systematics of Opsiphanes Doubleday, [1849] (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae, Satyrinae, Brassolini): an integrative approach (Zootaxa 5216) 278 pp.; 30 cm. 6 Dec. 2022
