Here's a variable species of "legend" from Japan.
Wow, those folks sure have been blessed with a
plethora of simply gorgeous swallowtail species
over there.
Spring generations are known to be smaller yet,
even bolder colored. This large attractive summer
generation male hails specifically from Hunon Island.
Hopefully, the species name is still correct.
I absolutely love the "fat" spatulate tails which are
present on many of the gloss papilio group !
