Wondering if there are any great spots to collect close (1 hr?) to San Antonio.

Thanks.

I think 1h around San Antonio is San Antonio ;). I would follow the Guadalupe River from New Braunfels in direction to Canyon Lake. It's already end of May, so that area will be hot.

Sincerely, a Texan that never has been a Texan.

If you're looking for butterflies anywhere in Texas, the best resource is "Finding Butterflies in Texas" by Roland Wauer. It has detailed maps on where to look, plus species lists for each region. It's out of print, but I saw a few copies available on ebay.
