Hypna clytemnestra

Post by daveuk »

A long time favourite.

Picture one: Two male verso specimens subspecies negra
Peru

Picture two: Female recto subspecies negra Peru
Male recto subspecies huebneri Brazil

Picture three: Two male recto & verso subspecies mexicana
Mexico

The mexicana specimens are not perfect. Getting perfect specimens has proved difficult.

I took one of those in Peru, ages ago. Fastest-flying butterfly I ever did see!

I have been lucky then, mine were peacefully resting on a leaf.
