Re: Agehana maraho
A mythical species ! It is now called Pterourus maraho . (or Papilio maraho ) Agehana and Pterourus genera have been synonymised in 2015 Keith Wolfe posted these pictures of Agehana and Pterourus larvae on facebook, as you can see, they are very very close, despite the geographical distance. https:/...

Welcome here ! (Also, I can't seem to upload a decent photo to my profile under the current size limits.) As avatar pictures are present on all pages in numbers, it is important to have low def pictures, otherwise pages will be long to load. But I am sure you will find a way to find a good avatar pi...

Re: Emperor of India / Kaiser-i-Hind (Teinopalpus imperialis)
Let's stress that it is a Pre-CITES convention specimen, so this specimen is legal.
For our readers, you need a CITES II permit to import a fresh specimen of this species (very hard to get CITES II permits for Teinopalpus).

Re: I'll try just about anything once, well maybe anything..

Re: French Guiana - October 2021

Re: French Guiana - October 2021
You should ! French Guiana is very collector friendly with a lot of entomological lodges. People speaks English and French and it is rather safe for an Amazonian area. And you don't need any collector permit from the French Guiana side (just a custom declaration to fill online before arrival). There...

Re: Your best live insect picture !
To give you a scale, this Asilidae was a monster : around 4 cm in length!
I would be happy to have an identification of the 2 species if anyone can help or know who could help.
