I saw that announcement too.
With this kind of month pay, they should better hire locals... even if the mission itself can be interesting.

Re: French Guyana suggestions

My recommendations : Kaw Mountain : - Patawa Camp : owned by 2 entomologists. Very good tracks within the forest nearby. Maybe good for you to know them so that they can introduce you people who could help for your Butterfly facility project. - Amazon Nature Lodge : the lodge is better, but no entom...

Re: (?Smaller) Moths in French Guiana

Hello A good start would be going to Camp Pattawa lodge (in the Kaw Mountain, 2 hours from Cayenne). Camp Pattawa is held by Odette Morvan and Jean-Aimé Cerda, 2 French entomologists who have studied the French Guiana heterocera actively. They host entomologists every months. So it is a good place t...

Re: Papuan Satyridae genitalia

For the moment, they are still on the spreading board and I don't see much differences, but this abdomen without any clasper.
Satyridae often have nearly no sexual dimorphism so it is not so easy.
I guess a DNA test or a genitalia preparation will be needed to be 100% sure.

Yes, we have a lot of error 500 and error 508...
It can work if you refresh the pages.

Our team is on it, but the software producer (Ilance) seems to have disappeared... so not easy...

Papuan Satyridae genitalia

Hello,

Can anyone confidently determine whether this Papuan Satyridae is male or female?
I have the feeling it's a female and if so... that would be new to science for this species.

I am not so used to work on small Satyridae so I'd prefer a confirmation.

Re: InsectNet Marketplace is down

Grmpfff the problem seems worst than thought by my tech team... and I am facing a TOTAL non-professionalism from Ilance (the Canadian company who created the marketplace software)... so it will take more time... I keep you all informed.

Yes, we had to buy a larger server due to too many pictures uploaded by sellers.
We should be back today or tomorrow.

Re: "Reptile Heaven" and "WildinsectUSA" = SCAM

Be careful, I had to remove another of these accounts in the Classifieds (Safman Rosicky). I see they have "improved" their scam listing now some very rare species at high price (but affordable for the rarity) : https://reptileheaven.com/product/agrias-phalcidon-fournierae/ The real value ...

Re: Enough already, with the fake aberrations

Trehopr1 < the "strange" Agrias you see on the market are not aberrations or man-made aberration. They are man-made hybrids from the Peruvian Agrias farms. I highly recommend the new book of Philippe Floquet who illustrates all Agrias natural forms and all known Agrias hybrids : https://ma...

Re: Enough already, with the fake aberrations

I see your point. But as soon as they are clearly advertised as "man-made", I can't see how you could stop them. If some collectors are happy to buy them, and sellers happy to raise specimen to produce their aberrations, it is hard to condemn them. Many aberration collectors feel like you....
