Hi Trehopr1, I will try sometime, but not now, as I am still recovering from my left hip joint replacement & am still in considerable pain as I am still awaiting word on when I can get my other right hip done as well! Right now I am still hobbling around with the aid of two walking canes & ...

I'm surprised that the abdomens are still attached. Were they removed and re-attached, or is there now a method of preventing greasing that I don't know about? They were attached when I got them as papered. I took a risk & set them with abdomens on. Have some closely related species where the a...

Thanks for all that information Adam. Thankfully did not personally have any close encounters with tropical wasps or hornets on my yravels. It sounds like a truly hazardous occupation. Glad you recovered fully from that sting. Even though it left a scar.

I have very few insects in my collection which are not lepidoptera. I picked these three up at Kempton Park show in London about ten years ago. I think whoever mounted them did a good job. As I recall they were not expensive so I don't think any of them are rare.

Thanks Adam. A pleasure to own a specimen that you personally collected. This is a particularly lovely Swallowtail I think. Beautiful specimen too.adamcotton wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 8:34 am It is great to see a specimen I collected so well spread and looked after.
This species mimics the two local Atrophaneura species.

Another of Adam's Laos specimens. I think this is subspecies mimetica. Find it really strange that these Satyrid Euploea mimics look so bright in pictures of living specimens I have seen & yet seem comparatively dull when set/spread. This specimen does have a slight purple sheen to the forewings...
