Papilio bachus or zagreus or ascolius
Hello, I am a little confused. I bought this butterfly as Papilio bachus. Tingo Maria, Peru. But I think that many dealers reside there and it is not the exact locality. Anyway, I found on the site https://www.butterfliesofamerica.com/L/imagehtmls/PapPie/Papilio_zagreus_ascolius_M_COLOMBIA_BOYACA_OR...

You are not supposed to drink it, but $10 is also too expensive.

Re: Some of my recent "papered" Stichopthalma
These Stichophthalma are very fascinating, I have some from Vietnam but I am still waiting for these to be reviewed. You are right, the species seem to be ambiguous and I also suspect that there are variants, either seasonal or überhautp. This specimen is from the south,BAC BINH, VIETNAM, and is ver...

STICHOPHTHALMA UEMURAI SSP. FROM BAO LOC, VIETN.
Here is my latest acquisition, the antennae are still in Vietnam. Compared to the other Stichopthalma I have, this specimen is relatively small.

Re: Troides males from Sumatra???
Hi and here are the ladies. I am not sure whether the female "vadepolli" is really vandepolli. The labe is from the 70is.
Maybe (surely you have an idea.
best wishes Joachim

Re: 3 old moths
Hi, thanks in the drawer there also a Morho, a Caligo and.. and others, I have some automeris from breeding, also the samia. Here is just a poor, qick shot. The small Geometrids were caught in a spa in 1971, so I think all other moths are from the 60's or before. I bought the box because of an Armad...

As I said, I tried this with a green Papilio, using acetone, benzine and alcohol. No chance, I think that structures are destroyed.

Re: Morpho rhetenor
This is one of my first butterflies and Morhpo ever. Catch date before 1970, no further data. I paid 8 DM ( $4 or so) from my pocket money and am still thrilled. Is it really rhetenor? By the way, the body is original and without oil. https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=kZqUyjZUIjDdXVDqFhQU07QvL...

Troides males from Sumatra???
Hello, here are 4 males from Troides ???? I believe it is all miranda neomiranda, but I am not sure. one label says Sumatra, but that may be wrong. They are all from 1977 or even earlier. I think the last picture shows vandepollli, father and son. Haha, Adam, I'm kidding, of course it's father and g...

old automeris
Hi everyone,
I have 3 automeris from 1981 or 1982, su data.
The color is very strange, might this be from the age? Or is it a species well know?
Thanks for ideas

And when the moon is full, there is a terrible scramble among the inhabitants. And the more people live, the heavier the earth, that will affect the orbit.

Re: Dumbing down
Hello, and here was a ( very well-meaning ) article about Lycaenidae, whose caterpillars live in ant burrows. It exists here where I live (but I only saw the moths years ago). In any case, it was said that the caterpillars lay eggs, and the pictures probably showed the droppings. I will see if I can...
