Extremely rare in collections. I have one very old male from India with a good chunk out of one forewing. This is a great specimen. The population on Hainan Island in China a recent discovery I believe. Before this it was only known from India.

I think this is a pale form of M didius trehopr but there has been much renaming of the Morpho genus over the past few years I find. I look at large blue Morpho thinking they are M didius only to read the description as M godarti. If you go on Ken Thornes website you should be able to see what I mea...

This butterfly is from an old American collection that I am currently inventorying. Collected in 1939 apparently, the data is somewhat lacking but hopefully there is enough information there that someone can determine the location, which I'm guessing is Mexico but not certain.
