I haven't seen it for at least a week or more. Perhaps it occurs at certain times of day or in certain areas where the internet is slower?

Re: Cabbage Butterfly: simple beauty, resilient, & adaptive.
I can't help but notice the morphological similarity between the Cabbage White and Aphrissa statira, which is a member of the Sulphur family and has a more southerly range in the USA (native to S. Texas & S. Florida). Does anybody know how closely (or distantly) the 2 species are related? They ...

Re: Has anyone heard of the seller Roger An?
There seems to be a distinct lack of anyone vouching for the seller.

Re: Has anyone heard of the seller Roger An?
butterflygirl, I don't think kevink was in any way implying that you wouldn't have paid on receipt. I think he just meant that you can't expect a seller to want to send goods without payment up front. On the other hand, you definitely did the right thing posting on Insectnet to check whether anyone ...

Re: Blood Sucking Mites living on our skin
I also cannot see any arthropods in the photos provided. They look like grains of sand or dirt, not living organisms.
If you are being bitten by something I suspect that it bites and then leaves your skin immediately.

Me too just now. It wasn't there last night.

PS. I wouldn't click 'allow notifications' anyway, but I don't recommend anyone do in case it's not genuinely from Insectnet.

Maybe he's away on a collecting trip or on holiday. I guess he wouldn't schedule sales when he's away.

Re: resource limit reached
The main issue we are worried about is that if it happens to a new user they may not want to use Insectnet any more.

Re: resource limit reached
I check Insectnet several times daily and strangely this evening Thai time the home page was unusually sluggish loading, first giving this error but loaded on refresh. When it did load correctly I tried to open the sections with new posts, but each gave me this error. When I have had this problem be...

Re: Thoughts on NABA?
One major problem with "butterfly watching", whether it be by NABA members or unaffiliated individuals, is that many species cannot reliably be identified from photos alone, some need at least examination of genitalia for accurate identification. Recently a colleague and I were asked to re...

Re: Using absolutes: always, never
You could state 'very rarely' to indicate less often than 'rarely', or if you have only seen a single specimen with these blue scales you could state 'blue scales were present on the forewing of a single individual among xxx specimens examined'.

Presumably you put the drawer somewhere easy to access, and have just forgotten where you put it.
Hopefully you will find it soon.

I found this post strange, but I'm not sure it's AI ... wouldn't AI know that species names are spelt with a first small letter, and only genus names with a capital?

Re: Collecting in Vietnam
A US visitor once told me that 'according to the law' dead insects for personal use can be brought into the US in accompanied luggage. Possibly the owner needs to file a 3-177 after arrival home. Apparently the law for luggage is different to parcels, according to the visitor.
