Re: Agrias butterflies
Agrias are involved in very complex mimicry rings triggering different forms in each zone of Amazonia. Studying the distribution of each forms is very interesting. Each Rio of Amazonia seems to trigger different forms, these are the local forms. Then you have some individual forms (various forms in...

Re: Agrias butterflies
It is all about offer and demand, Anna. If sellers don't sell their "rare forms", the price will decrease. Prices are going down on Agrias for various reasons : - several species are now bred. Prices of phalcidon excelsior forms have collapsed for example. From $1,000 to $100 in few years....

Another great video from my colleague Michel Belloin in French Guiana.
It gives you an idea of how diverse the fauna is in Amazonia (when not destroyed).

Excellent books indeed.
And the more you will study Agrias, the more questions you will have ! It is a very interesting (and difficult) group.

Re: Bug Fair May 18 and 19 Los Angeles Natural History Museum
Indeed, you guys need to organize a big fair on the East coast too. Several fairs are succesful in Europe, I don't see why it would not be a success in the US too. You can coorganize it with shell or mineral collectors, if you fear to lack visitors in the first years. (that's what they do in Modena ...

Re: resource limit reached
OK I have just upgraded succesfully the forum (that's why the forum has been unaccessible for the last 2 hours).
I am not sure at all it will fix the "Resource limit reached" issue, we will see.
It's anyway a good thing to update it for security reasons.

It is a new feature from InsectNet.
I am trying few new things to monetize the website without putting a yearly compulsory fee.

Re: resource limit reached
Inmotion says it comes from a technical issue in the code somewhere on InsectNet. Could be the phpbb forum, I will try to update it with the last version next week... it is not so easy to do and there is a risk of bugging the whole forum so I am always reluctant to do this kind of upgrades. Not sure...

Re: Agrias butterflies
As perfectly said by Manfred, females of ssp mauensis vary a lot, with some wonderful forms : see on the Agrias website : https://agrias-butterflies.com/agrias-p ... -mauensis/
There are less variations in female aurantiaca : https://agrias-butterflies.com/agrias-p ... urantiaca/
