They are not captive bred, but on several occasions massive cocoons were collected so a mumber of them was available ex pupa. Also depending on luck they probably hatch in clusters so one is able to attract om light a good quantity of freshly hatched specimens

EU has a different CITES system. Hospiton is in CITES A, which is the same treatment as CITES I.

Cant sell it within EU without proper paper work either. And since I assume there is no label, it is impossible to verify the age of the specimen thus impossible to obtain rhe papers and legalize it.

Also taxonomy changes quickly...some ssp. are elevated, some species are degraded, some species are split into several taxa...also different author, different oppinion. I think it is just impossible to keep up with all the changes and keep the collection of worldwide Papilionidae updated

I saw an ex pupa female sold at Japanese auction for ca 1000€, some A2 specimens were sold on ebay too for similar price

Paralasa danorum
One of the worlds rarest butterflies confident to Koh-i-Baba Mts. in Afghanistan. Until now known from only 4 pecimens. Very unique species, no other Satyrid has an oceli complex like that. Known to most by photos from Bozano or Sakai books.

EU has specien in Appendices A, B, C (not I, II, III), species are not distributed identicaly. Some species from CITES II are in EU CITES A list and are treated as regular CITES I.
