Congratulations on finishing school! It's quite a bit of work and time. My suggestion if I may- don't buy commercially, use that money to go there. You're young enough to learn to handle the hardships and maximize collecting efforts. Why buy one when you can catch ten? It certainly would be awesome...

Putting aside the discussion of Speyeria vs Argynnis, is the subspecies Speyeria hydaspe purpurascens (Edwards, 1877) valid? Or is it a synonym with a different ssp.? Couldn't seem to find much info online.

Here's a hybrid pair I bought several years ago.
Supposedly a pair of hybrid P. polyxenes asterius X P. machaon oregonius

So many neat Sphinx moths to be found
