Then I read "Pagne d'Angel" but it doesn't ring any bell on Google...
I have found a "Montagne d'Angèle" which could be your locality : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montagne_d%27Ang%C3%A8le
You were correct, Montagne d'Angèle!

Thanks so much for your assistance

Locations in France

Hello everyone,

I have several Carabus that I acquired in trade many many years ago and I'm finally getting around to mounting them. However, I'm not sure I understand the location information. Maybe you guys can help!

Two of them are labeled as Ariege region of France, and I assume the other part ...

Interesting paper that touches on relaxing techniques. Includes a modified formula for Barber's solution without benzene.

Re: Beetle elytra

Yeah I used a recipe to make up a 100 mL bottle when I was in grad school. Its very useful, though I've barely used any of it.

Beetle elytra

As some may have experienced, it sometimes happens that the elytra of beetles killed and/or preserved in liquids (e.g. alcohol) will spread apart as they dry.

Does anyone know any methodology to prevent this from happening or to fix specimens where this has occurred? I've tried relaxing specimens ...

Re: Glue boards/cards

Thanks for the info John. I've always used pins and points, but want to slim down the collection with some nicely mounted beetles and bugs on cards.

Glue boards/cards

I'm looking for a US supplier of various sizes of pre-cut "glue boards" or "mounting boards" for mounting smaller specimens. I have a feeling there isn't one though.

For example

Also what glue is best for this process and what type of cardstock is used?

Thanks
