Re: HS student - research project on Leps
I agree with evra. I would add that the Lorquin Society has a junior branch called the Lorquin Society Scholars. A couple of the members were running at table at the LA NHM Bug Fair last weekend. They were about your age, very bright and interested in entomology. I recently started following them on ...

This is a great idea. Thank you for sharing. I also ordered these from Bioquip in the past and have been looking for more. I looked again when I saw your new post and was able to find a supplier in Quebec. I have been to this store once before and they have many nice products by the way.

Re: UV lights, please advise
I second the comment above about Entoquip. I got the 10 W mini because I wanted it to be easy to pack in luggage and travel with. Paired with a powerbank and you are good to go. Durable, portable, and compact. I haven't tried the larger 32 W but if I needed to replace an old Bioquip 15 W bulb I ...

Beautiful work.
Bioquip adhesive is great. I've worried about where I might get it in the future. Does anyone have any idea what this adhesive is or where it can be sourced?

Forgive for the plug, but the link below is to an excellent podcast that I follow. The episode linked I think may be particularly relevant to the present discussion. These can be challenging cases for sufferer and diagnostician alike

You might consider reaching out to Royce Cumming at Bioquip Bugs. He is great to work with in my experience. I know that he has been purchasing old collections recently to help get his business going.

I made a purchase with them just about 2 months ago. It was over the holidays so there was a bit of a delay in getting the shipment to me but the communication was good. Several of the items I purchased were not available, so the website is not totally accurate. Some items were not of the quality as ...

Re: bucket light trap
Anyone prefer to use liquid ammonia versus ethyl acetate as killing agent in BL trap? Or why not? I appreciate the wick idea - I will have to try that. I have generally used a small jar covered by a piece of screening to contain my killing agent (usually liquid ammonia household cleaner)

Well said. This really speaks to the value of collecting as its often not until you spread and mount these smaller ones that you really appreciate them fully.

Chuck Ianni was the best. Really sad that he is not with us any longer.daveuk wrote: Fri Jun 03, 2022 1:45 pm A pair from French Guiana.
All my specimens of this species came from Chuck Ianni from Ohio U.S.A. He sadly passed away at the end of last year.
