Re: Rarities in Charaxes
Are they breeding Polyura dehaani or all wild caught? It seems that some years ago, someone must have captive-reared a number of dehanii - my pair seems far too perfect to have ever flown. Agree with that livingplanet. I think that it has not been bred for a while now as I rarely see them offered t...

Re: Favorite Classic & Modern Insect Books
Lucky enough to own a few of those books John. Of particular interest is my copy of " F.W. Frohawk- His Life & Work." which is signed by the author & Frohawk's daughter Valezina. Valezina is a name familiar to British lepidopterists as it was given to the dark grey form of the fema...

Re: Insectrum UK
I won't use this seller again. Have bought quite a few specimens from him from the website & ebay. The quality was mixed. Some good & some very bad. My last parcel had three bad & one specimen missing. I only got a full refund by agreeing to remove negative feedback on ebay. At first he ...

Three recently acquired males from this genus.
Not absolutely positive on the identification of these.
The top two specimens from Viet-Nam I think are from top to bottom F caelestis & F excelsa.
The smaller bottom specimen from China was identified by the dealer as F aerope.

Male of this quite large species of Satyrid from Peru. The data is for Carpish October 1999. Which presumably refers to Carpish mountain in Huanuco, Peru.

Heliconius doris
Three specimens from Ecuador. All from the early 2000's. Part of the last consignment of specimens from an old British dealer friend before he retired. Pretty sure the top two are doris forms. Not completely convinced about the red one.
